Rapture Monument by Alanise Rapture Monument by Alanise
Since bioshock II came out this month and it also was the February theme for gnomon 3D contest I decided to do a little tribute piece to the game bioshock. A stone monument of the little sister with the rapture city out the window, of course big daddy is never too far away. Now off to play the game some more.

Completion four days
3ds Max, vray, photoshop

The map is all missing texture files now...any thoughts about updating or even doing something similar for infinite?

I very much like this. I like the fact that the red glow stands out, and how eerie the city and the water look. It's dull and depressing (that's a good thing,) and it sends chills up the spine. As if its night in the ocean, with a storm overhead, or the water has been polluted by rapture. I like the lighting as well, the highlights on the pipes and stone floor. The effort you put into this clearly shows, very nicely done.

Hmm. It looks like a Big Daddy is getting in a fight in the corridor across from this one.

You really paid some attention to the Bioshock artwork and the world of Rapture to design this, especially the ocean city we see in the background, wow!

Wouldn't be surprised if we came across a chamber like this for the Little Sisters, incredible idea and detailed brilliantly from its dark and mysterious look to the glowing ADAM, hats off Alanise.

Thanks, I went back and started a new game in the first bioshock and took screenshots of areas I liked. The tea garden area and the tunnels from building to building is where this piece inspiration came from along with my own love of art deco architecture and stone sculptures. It is a great game and hope I did it justice.

Rather interesting where you got some the initial idea from the Tea Garden and all, most times you see Rapture artwork and always the same underwater tubes and mics piping around the place. But again cheers to digging deeper into what the other parts of Rapture might hold, as Ryan would say, "I chose the impossible."

Justice and then some Alanise you got a standing ovation over here if your ever iffy on this pic. ^_^

That looks awesome! I love the water effects and the reflection outside the tunnel!
